Blockader is a 2D roguelike arena shooting game where the player is located at the center of the circular arena with hostile entities slowly surrounding him. The character attacks close enemies, which makes the player move and make decisions between waves of monsters.
There is nowhere to hide in Blockader. The player may be attacked from many directions, and the difficulty level rises because of the introduction of a new danger tier featuring melee combatants. The Sniper adds another challenge because it attacks the player from outside the ring.
Press the WASD keys or the arrow keys to move. Instead of staying still and only using your automatic attack, keep moving around to avoid hitting your enemies' attacks. Once you lose your final life, that's it.
Your survival will give you chances to make your warrior stronger, so clear the waves and gather the stars for upgrades. You’ll have 100+ upgrade cards divided into 4 tiers of rarity, which gives many possibilities for combinations.
Sometimes a good build is not defined by the choice of the strongest card at each upgrade. Think about your current abilities and the way they fit into the strategy, and pick upgrades accordingly.
Stars will not only be helpful in waves but can also unlock gear and abilities not available in wave upgrades. Offensive gear can help you with attack potential, defensive gear can increase survivability, and utility gear gives extra bonuses. The skill tree gives many choices for your development.
There are six warriors to choose from in Blockader, namely Lucky, Byte, Spark, Orbit, Sludge, and Spike. Each warrior comes with its own style and flair on the field, though only one of the warriors can be used to begin with.
